The C320 series bidirectional DC contactors expand the application range of the successful C310 and C360 series and are designed for switching extremely high power. With a nominal short-circuit making capacity of up to 3,000 A and a continuous current capacity of up to 1,000 A, this series provides a reliable solution for applications with high inrush currents and large power loads.
Thanks to optimized contact forces and an efficient ceramic arc chamber, minimal heat generation in the main contact system is ensured. In the event of a short circuit, the contactor can conduct up to 4,500 A for 100 ms without the contacts welding, enabling a safe and reliable disconnection. The full bidirectional operation makes this series ideal for charging and discharging applications such as battery storage systems, DC charging infrastructure, and rail vehicles.
The C320 series includes two variants, tailored to different applications:
- C320K/1000 - Suitable for DC voltages up to 1,500 V, equipped with a ceramic arc chamber for maximum switching capacity and reliability.
- C320S/1000 - Designed for lower voltages up to 60 V DC, without an arc chamber, making it ideal for compact installations with lower switching loads.
With these two variants, the C320 series provides a flexible and reliable solution for applications where high DC voltages and currents need to be switched.
