The Janitza UMG 801 is a
modularly expandable power analyser specially designed for building an energy monitoring system with, among others, a Modbus and OPC UA interface. This advanced device
combines energy, power quality, and ground fault monitoring and offers comprehensive functionality and flexibility to optimise energy efficiency and make power quality transparent. The analyser is suitable for applications in industrial environments, energy storage systems, battery storage systems and utility buildings such as hospitals and data centres.
The UMG 801 is equipped with 4 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs, 1 analogue output, 2 Ethernet RJ45 ports, and 4 multifunctional inputs. The device also has 3 voltage measurement inputs and 8 current measurement inputs, divided into 2 blocks with four inputs each. This allows for accurate measurements within TN, IT, and TT networks.
The power analyser is capable of measuring harmonics up to the 127th, which helps in identifying potential problems and disturbances in your electrical installation. The UMG 801 has a 4 GB memory for storing measurement data, making it easy to analyse historical data and identify trends in energy consumption.
10 additional measurement modules
The UMG 801 features an integrated JanBus interface connection, allowing additional current measurement modules to be easily and quickly connected by simply sliding them onto the DIN rail against the UMG 801 or against each other. Once connected, these additional modules are automatically recognised by the UMG 801. Therefore, looping the measurement voltage, auxiliary voltage, and bus cabling is not necessary. Up to 10 current measurement modules of 2x 4 channels or up to 3 measurement modules of 6x 4 channels can be connected to the UMG 801.
Remote display
In many cases, the UMG 801 will be installed behind a panel or door. The
separately available RD 96 remote display enables reading and configuration of the UMG 801 and its associated modules on the front of the distributor. The display can be connected directly to the UMG 801 using the supplied USB cable (1.8m).
