The Janitza UMG 800 is a modularly expandable energy analyser specifically designed to build an energy monitoring system with, among other things, a Modbus and OPC UA interface. This advanced device offers extensive functionality and flexibility to optimise energy efficiency and provide insight into power quality. The analyser is suitable for applications in industrial environments, energy storage systems, battery storage systems, and utility buildings such as hospitals and data centres.
The UMG 800 can be expanded with various modules, allowing the device to support up to 96 current measurement channels and 182 digital inputs. The device is equipped with two Ethernet RJ45 ports and an RS485 interface, enabling seamless integration into existing systems. The UMG 800 supports communication protocols such as OPC UA and Modbus TCP/IP, ensuring efficient real-time data transmission.
The power analyser can measure harmonics up to the 63rd order, helping to identify potential issues and disturbances in your electrical installation. The UMG 800 features a 4 GB memory for storing measurement data, making it easy to analyse historical data and identify trends in energy consumption.
Expansion modules
The UMG 800 has a modular design, allowing additional current measurement modules to be easily and quickly added. Up to 13 modules can be connected, making it possible to achieve up to 96 current measurement channels. These modules are automatically recognised by the UMG 800, eliminating the need for looping measurement voltage, auxiliary voltage, and bus wiring.
Remote display
In many cases, the UMG 800 will be installed behind a panel or door. The
separately available RD 96 remote display allows the UMG 800 and its connected modules to be read and configured from the front of the distribution board. The display can be connected directly to the UMG 800 using the supplied USB cable (1.8m).
