390 Sight Glass For welding PN16, PN25, PN40
Our round sight glass fittings of Type 390 are precisely welded onto or into a vessel wall or pipeline to facilitate observation or illumination of the interior. Featuring welding ends according to DIN EN 1092-1 Type 11, these sight glass fittings are well-suited for the most common pipelines. Similar to our other sight glasses, a chemically highly resistant borosilicate glass to DIN 7080 or a similar standard is securely clamped between two high-quality stainless steel flanges, along with proven quality gaskets.
Our Type 390 sight glasses are crafted from the high-quality stainless steel 1.4571 (316Ti) that our customers have valued for years. The glass material used is borosilicate glass 3.3 according to DIN 7080 (or similar), a material well-established in the industry.
The fitting is sealed with flat gaskets, customized to your specifications, chosen from an extensive range of materials. In addition to commonly used fiber gaskets (e.g. KLINGERSIL® C-4400), special applications can benefit from materials such as PTFE (Garlock GYLON®, Frenzelit novaflon®), NBR, graphite (e.g. Frenzelit novaphit®), and various other branded gaskets.
If the maximum operating temperature of 280°C falls short of your requirements or if process conditions pose challenges for even highly resistant borosilicate glass, a specially adapted FEP or mica protection screen offers additional defense against steam and aggressive chemicals, including alkalis up to a pH value of 14.
Similar to our other sight glass fittings, our Type 390 can be optionally equipped with SGW type wipers or lights.
