522 High Pressure Sight Glass With Female Thread connection
The ACI high-pressure sight glass, known as Type 522, is specifically designed for observing and illuminating processes under operating pressures of up to 320 bar. The base version features a solid stainless steel or steel housing with two female threaded connections to Whitworth, NPT, or a standard of your specification, directly machined into the solid housing wall. This design eliminates the need for welding seams and other extensive processing, allowing us to maintain short delivery times.
For the housing materials, we utilize the same high-quality steel and stainless steel grades as in our other sight glasses. Examples include the proven austenite 1.4571, highly acid-resistant 1.4539, the internationally recognized 1.4404, and various materials, including duplex steel and high-performance alloys like Hastelloy®.
Depending on your process data, a borosilicate glass 3.3 pane is used in accordance with DIN 7080. For special requirements, we also employ mica protection discs.
For sealing, high-quality graphite or mica composite seals are used in the force main seal, such as novaphit® MST or Klinger® Milam.
Our sight glass Type 522 undergoes a 100% pressure test with 1.5 times the nominal pressure in accordance with applicable guidelines and is delivered fully assembled. In case parts of the fitting, such as the sight glass, wear out or become damaged through continued use, simply provide us with the order number affixed to the housing, and we will arrange for a replacement as quickly as possible.
