622 Tubular Sight Glass With threaded connections
The ACI Tubular Sight Glass with Threaded Connection, known as Type 622, is a specialized version of our well-established Type 620, tailored for straightforward installation using a female thread.
Similar to our tubular sight glass Type 620, the primary component of Type 622 is a glass tube crafted from the industrially proven borosilicate glass 3.3. It is encased by two sturdy steel or stainless steel flanges. The choice of material for the flanges depends on your specific requirements, with options including pressure equipment steel P265GH or corrosion-resistant stainless steel 1.4571. For unique applications, we also provide special materials like Hastelloy or duplex steel alloys upon request.
By default, we use virginal PTFE as the sealing material. Alternatively, options include metal-reinforced graphite or elastic EPDM gaskets. Additional materials are available upon request. Similar to our Type 620, threaded rods are employed to apply the required compression, providing protection to the glass tube against crushing or bending forces. For installations in active plants, we recommend adding a layer of polycarbonate impact protection. This robust plastic layer effectively shields the delicate glass tube from potential damage due to falling parts, tools, or other objects, thereby increasing the overall lifespan of the sight glass.
Type 622, like all our tubular sight glasses, undergoes thorough pressure resilience testing to ensure compatibility with expected operating pressures of up to 16 bar.
