2580 Overflow valve made of gunmetal, angle-type with threaded connections
The overflow valve is characterized by its ability to provide continuous and quiet pressure reduction when used on tanks for the storage of cryogenic liquid technical gases such as argon, oxygen, nitrogen, or carbon dioxide.
The overflow valve is set to a pressure below the set pressure of the safety valves, preventing the tank's safety valves from reacting. Fully opened safety valves generate loud discharge noises, which in most cases exceed the immission guideline value of TA Lärm (technical instructions for noise protection) and disturb the neighborhood's sleep.
The reaction of the safety valves is often interpreted as a malfunction of the storage system and leads to the activation of the emergency plan, including fire, police, and rescue services. By using the overflow valve type 2580, this scenario can be prevented.
For the protection of:
- Containers and pipelines for storage and transport of cryogenic liquefied gases such as LIN, LOX, LAr, CO2, LNG.
- Tunnel freezer installations
- Dry ice blasting installations
- Cryogenic plant construction
- Dosing of liquid nitrogen
- Cryogenic milling process
- Cryogenic processing
- Freezing plants
- Gases used in medical equipment
- Installations for cryogenic gases in contact with food
Overflow valves of this type are standard oil and grease-free.
