Electropneumatic Intelligent Valve Positioner SP500
The SP500 intelligent valve positioner is a device capable of controlling a linear or quarter-turn pneumatic servomotor and is powered via the control signal.
A 4-20mA signal sets the valve position. The accuracy of the valve position is maintained by providing feedback on the valve position. The pneumatic output signal is adjusted to compensate for valve stem friction or flow forces on the valve. The valve position is displayed on a digital display as a percentage of the total lift height. The valve position is measured with a non-mechanical coupling based on the HALL effect.
The pneumatic part is based on the piezo valve technique. This ensures high resolution, reliability, insensitivity to vibrations, and extremely low compressed air consumption in a stable state.
The SP500 includes many intelligent features, all of which can be programmed using the software configuration menu and by using the integrated keyboard and alphanumeric data on the LCD display. Commissioning of the valve is simplified by an automatic startup routine and a display of the programming status on the LCD display. The status of the limit switches, the input of the mA signal, and the valve diagnosis data are also displayed.
Due to the absence of a mechanical transmission between the valve stem and the valve positioner, the assembly of the SP500 is drastically simplified, reducing assembly time significantly. The SP500 comes with a mounting kit according to the NAMUR standard for mounting on a bracket or pillar. For quarter-turn valve positioners, a mounting kit is included in accordance with VDI/VDE 3845. The SP500 is available (optional) with HART communication protocol, enabling complete configuration via PC or mobile device.
Compressed Air Supply:
The SP500 intelligent valve positioner must be supplied with high-quality compressed air. A compressed air pressure regulator with coalescing filter or equivalent must be used.

- Series PNS3000 and PNS4000
- Series PN9000
