BRV71 / BRV73 SG Iron Pressure Reducing Valves
The BRV71 (internal thread) and BRV73 (flanges) are direct-acting pressure reducing devices in nodular cast iron suitable for steam.
For the reduced pressure, three control ranges are possible depending on the spring with which the controller is equipped. A color code (13) allows distinguishing the different control ranges.
Gray spring: 0.14 to 1.7 bar
Green spring: 1.4 to 4 bar
Orange spring: 3.5 to 9 bar
Note:
In case of overlapping of two control ranges, always choose the lowest control range to ensure better control.
In operation, the valve will modulate by the reduced pressure through the impulse opening in the valve stem. The pressure acts on the control diaphragm. This generates a force balanced by the compressed control spring. The internal forces caused by the pressure acting upstream and downstream on the valve surface are minimized by a balanced bellows diaphragm. A graphite-reinforced PTFE bushing in the valve stem/balanced bellows diaphragm and the bottom flange ensures double guidance.
