520 High Pressure Sight Glass With flanged connections, PN160
The ACI high pressure sightglass flow indicators, known as Type 520, feature a robust body crafted from various stainless steel alloys, including 1.4541, 1.4571, or acid-resistant special steels like 1.4539. Depending on the pressure rating, flanges are welded in accordance with DIN EN 1092-1 and tested following the AD2000 directive. Upon request, materials like nickel-based alloys or Hastelloy, suitable for extreme stresses, are also available. Typically, the fittings come with two viewing windows, enabling observation from two sides or fluoroscopy of the process medium.
In the standard version, a sight glass made of thermally hardened borosilicate glass 3.3, specifically manufactured for your application, serves as a viewing window. Depending on temperature and chemical stress, sealing is done with flat gaskets carefully chosen for your application, such as graphite (novaphit MST XP) or mica-based gaskets.
Due to the solid housing, our flow sight glass Type 520 can be equipped with test connections for measuring instruments or additional process connections (e.g., internal thread) upon request.
In its standard version, Type 520 is designed for pressures up to 400 bar within the scope of DIN EN 1092-1. If your process requires a higher operating pressure, feel free to contact us. The sight glass housing and glass plates can be manufactured (depending on size) for pressures up to 400 bar.
Type 520 is pre-assembled at the factory and undergoes a pressure test at 1.5 times the nominal pressure.
