BTM7 and BTM7 Food+ Balanced Pressure Thermostatic Clean Steam Trap
The Spirax-Sarco BTM7 is a serviceable thermostatic pressure balanced condensate pot designed for removing condensate in sterile steam networks (Clean Steam). The condensate pot opens over the entire pressure range close to the steam curve, minimizing condensate retention.

Process vessels and CIP/SIP systems
This condensate pot is manufactured from stainless steel - all parts in contact with condensate in 316L - with a surface finish of 1.6 to 3.2 µm Ra and is self-draining. The condensate pots are individually packaged in an 'ISO CLASS 7' clean environment, with protective caps over the pipe connections and sealed in a protective plastic bag.
Options (at an additional cost):- Permanent leak to ensure it is open in case of failure due to condensate backup.
- Special connections possible for most piping systems.
Standards:
The BTM7 is designed and manufactured in general accordance with ASME BPE. It also complies with the European Pressure Equipment Directive. All parts in contact with the condensate are made of FDA-approved materials.
All seals comply with the following standards:
- FDA CFR Title 21, Part 177, Section 2600
- USP Class VI Section 88, at 121C for 1 hour
- ADI (Animal Derived Ingredient) free for materials used, production processes used in making this part.

In a vertical pipeline with the flow direction according to the arrow on the housing and downward so that the condensate pot is fully self-draining. Do not expose the capsule to overheating to avoid the risk of damage. Install the necessary valves for safe maintenance/replacement.
