IN15 / IN25M / IN40M Steam Injector - Preheater
The Spirax-Sarco steam injector was designed for the direct injection of steam into water or other liquids. In steam injection, cold liquid is drawn in, which is mixed with steam in the nozzle and exits the injector as heated liquid. The circulation and turbulence caused in the bath contribute to good mixing and a uniform temperature. The injector is available in three diameters. The smallest diameter, IN15, has both external and internal threads and can be screwed onto the wall or onto a pipe in the tank. The IN25M and IN40M are available with external threads or in buttweld. For larger flows, two or more injectors are provided in parallel.
Main Features:- Stainless Steel
- Ideal for heating the boiler feed tank and degassing.
- Efficient heating of water and other liquids
- Heats, mixes, and circulates
- No moving parts
- Compact
- Minimal noise and vibration
Pressure and temperature limits:
see datasheet
Construction:
Austenitic Stainless Steel ASTM A351 CF3M
Diameters and Connections:
The IN15 has both 1" external thread and " internal thread BSPT or NPT.
Options for larger injectors:
see datasheet
Installation Note:
The injector is installed at the bottom of the tank, preferably centrally, with the outlet horizontally in the longitudinal direction. The steam supply line must be securely fastened to avoid vibration and stress and must always be higher than the water level in the tank. Leave a minimum of 150 mm between the injectors and the sides and bottom of the tank. Leave as much distance as possible between the outlet of the injector and the opposite side of the tank. Read the installation and maintenance instructions for the minimum distances to be maintained. If multiple injectors are installed, they should be evenly distributed over the tank.
Kv values:
see datasheet
Autonomous control systems:
see datasheet
Capacity - Selection of a steam injector:
see datasheet
The choice of a steam injector is determined by the steam flow rate needed to heat a liquid. See datasheet for the capacity of the steam injector, in kg/h, if the tank to be heated is atmospheric. These values are valid up to a depth of 3 meters. The choice of the control valve can affect the steam capacity of the system. If higher capacities are desired, two or more injectors should be installed in parallel.
